The fire siren blew at 7:05 p.m. Monday summoning local emergency crews to the scene of a mock accident just south of Hartington behind Grossenberg Implement. When the emergency crews arrived, they discovered a bus had collided with a grain truck and the bus had gone off the road and rolled on its side. Firemen had to determine how to best handle the situation, while ambulance personnel dealt with the mock victims. 09/13/2023 12:00 AM

While stationed in Hawaii, he sent her a birthday card: It read: “Sweetheart of mine -- Loving you means happiness and skies a bit more blue! Thinking of you means my thoughts are bright and happy, too! Greeting you just means I’m glad, to have a part. In birthday thoughts and wishes, when they’re for you Sweetheart!
