HARTINGTON — The sweet clover weevil has infested fields in the southern part of the county to prodigious numbers.” R.E. Weir, county agent reported this week after a survey made in the Randolph area.
“In some fields the leaves are being devoured as fast as they emerge from the buds,” Mr. Weir said.

RANDOLPH - County sheriff Ralph Clements was called Saturday morning to Randolph to investigate a robbery which had occurred some time during the night at Huwaldt’s station on Highway 20.
Loss was estimated at around $30 worth of merchandise by Huwaldt.
Entrance was gained by breaking glass in the front door which faces the highway.

HARTINGTON — A new post office building has been authorized for Hartington. The site accepted by the Federal post office department is located across the alley west of Buchanan Corner Drug and south across the street from Ray’s Super Saver. The new post office will contain about 2,300 square feet of floor space, plus a loading platform.
The site, comprising about 7,500 square feet, will provide adequate parking and truck maneuvering areas.
