Wayne State students honored at art show

WAYNE – A Concord native was one of nine Wayne State College art and design students to win awards during the opening of the Spring 2025 Juried Art Show April 23 in the Nordstrand Visual Arts Gallery.

Student award winners were: Lis Gonzalez, Gretna Best of Show for “Con Carino” Britt Hensley, Big Springs Excellence in Craftsmanship for “Scorpion” Ellie Rodenbaugh, Elkhorn Best Visual Innovation for “Memory” Prim Shaw, Basset Creative Use of Media for “Life Story” Alexandra Splittgerber, Kearney Most Thoughtfully Beyond Boundaries for “I Try not to be Hateful (But it Festers)” Honorable Mention went to: Eden Cross, Concord “I Have a Somewhat Nasally Voice at Times and It’s One of My Biggest Insecurities”
