Wynot girls have easy time at Osmond

OSMOND — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils got back on the winning track Friday, as they dominated play on both ends of the court to earn a 60-16 mauling of the Osmond Lady Tigers.

Wynot held the Lady Tigers to single digit scoring in every quarter and used big second and fourth quarter runs on offense to pick up this conference win.

Wynot was led by a trio of double figure scorers. Katelyn Heine continues to lead the team on offense, as she hit three treys and finished with top scoring honors for the game with her 15 points. Michaela Lange continued her steady play with 12 points and led the team with five rebounds. Shalee Planer also hit double figures with 10 points and four steals.

For Osmond, Mary Kahny lead the Lady Tigers with seven points and Maddy Huwaldt contributed five points. Macy Aschoff lead the team with six rebounds.

In the first quarter, both teams started slowly. Late three-pointers by Wynot’s Katelyn Heine and Michaela Lange gave the Lady Devils the 12-4 lead after one period.

In the second quarter, Mary Kahny and Maddy Huwaldt each hit a bucket for Osmond. The Blue Devils would get their offense rolling and went on a 20-4 run lead by seven points from Katelyn Heine and six points by Shalee Planer, along with a second trey by Michaela Lange, as Wynot built a 32-8 halftime lead.

Scoring slowed in the third quarter. Mary Kahny hit a trey and a pair of free throws to lead Osmond. Wynot got five points from Karley Heimes and a basket by Noelle Wieseler as they maintained a 39-16 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Osmond was held scoreless. Wynot got six more points from Michaela Lange and three-pointers by Heine, Karley Heimes and Chloe Heimes, as they increased the winning margin to 60-16.
