LINCOLN—The road toward development of Highway 15 through Hartington has been a long and winding one. The highway urbanization project would add a turning lane and curb and gutter to Highway 15 through Hartington. The bridge north of the city limits will also be replaced, as well as six miles of road leading to town.

HARTINGTON—The Hartington City Council agreed Monday to give local residents a choice in who supplies their natural gas needs. KN Energy has been lobbying the city for over a year now to change three ordinances and allow the company to change the way they do business here.

HARTINGTON—Myron Riddle was honored Saturday as Hartington’s Community Servant of the year. Riddle was nominated for the award for his many years of service to the community, school, youth programs and church organizations.

HARTINGTON—Area residents left a meeting last week on rural zoning with more questions than answers.

Over 200 county residents attended the first ever event, forcing meeting organizers to move it from the packed Cedar County courtroom to across the street into the Hartington City Auditorium. The issue moved to the front burner when a Minnesota farm operation announced plans to set up a large-scale hog facility here.

HARTINGTON—County residents won’t have to wait in line as long to get their driver’s licenses renewed under a plan approved by Cedar County Commissioners. The Neb. Department of Motor Vehicles is going to use the Commissioners Chambers to test people.
