Wynot girls earn the win over Homer

WYNOT — The Wynot Lady Blue Devils picked up another win against Lewis and Clark foe Tuesday night as they pulled away in the second half to down the Homer Lady Knights 46-32.

Wynot used the long ball to pick up their fourth win of the season against just one loss. Homer’s record now stands at 0-4 with the loss.

Wynot was led by Shaelee Planer and Katelyn Heine who each accounted for 11 points for the game.

Autumn Lawson came off the bench to drop in a pair of three pointers to help the Lady Blue Devils cause.

Homer was paced by Hannah Harris with a game high 16 points and Katie Baker went 6-6 from the free throw line for the game.

In the opening quarter it was a tight game early. Homer got six points from Hannah Harris. Late in the quarter Wynot would open up from long range as they got a trey each from Autumn Lawson, Michaela Lange, Edyn Sudbeck and Katelyn Heine to build an 18-12 lead.

The second quarter saw both teams go cold. The only points scored was a field goal for Wynot by Shaelee Planer and one for Homer by Hannah Harris.

Wynot maintained a 20-14 halftime advantage.

After the break Wynot went on a 12-6 run fueled by a second trey by Heine and one by Shaelee Planer as well as a four-point effort from Noelle Wieseler.

Hannah Harris continued to be a bright spot for the Lady Knights as she scored all of Homer’s points in the period. Wynot had increased their lead to 32-20 going into the final quarter.

Katie Baker got to the line in the fourth quarter for Homer hitting 6-6 from the charity stripe and Hannah Harris contributed three more points to the Lady Knights totals.

Wynot countered with five points from Shaelee Planer, four points by Katelyn Heine and Autumn Lawson’s second three pointer of the night to help finish off the Lady Knights by a final of 46-32.
