Bears put together solid week until Wynot bounces them from L&C Tny.
WALTHILL – Laurel-Concord-Coleridge was bounced from the winner’s bracket in the quarterfinals of the Lewis Division of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament here Jan. 29 by Wynot, 70-50, after having a busy and fairly successful week prior to the tournament.

Lady Bears take care of business
LAUREL – The Laurel-Concord- Coleridge Lady Bears had a bit of a successful week, taking care of Osmond/Randolph back on Jan. 23, 56-29 then taking care of Wakefield, 68-52 before opening play in the Lewis Division of the Lewis and Clark Conference Tournament with a win over Bloomfield on Jan. 27, 61-29.

Snow fun
Elizabeth and William Kneifl had fun climbing a snow mountain near their house. They were later joined by their siblings, Walter (back) and Genevieve (front) as they decided to go sledding. The snow and cold couldn’t keep these area kids from being outside. The recent snowfalls were all that was needed to give area kids a chance to finally get out and have some fun in the white stuff. From sledding to climbing the huge mountains of snow to building a tunnel, or maybe building a snowman or having a snowball fight, whatever the activity was, the kids had a ball.

Another historic Laurel building is being demolished
Another building with a long history is being demolished. This one is the old lumberyard on the north side of First Street. Older people may remember it as Great Plains Supply Co. Although this building was erected 110 years ago, a lumberyard has occupied that site since the beginning of the town.
