Taryn Wiemers

DIXON — Taryn Wiemers, 63, Dixon, died April 5, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family.

A memorial service will be 2 p.m., April 12, at Faith Community Church, Laurel, with Reverend Doug Collins officiating.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Laurel.

Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Taryn Wiemers was born Jan. 6, 1961, in Grand Forks, N.D., to William and Dorothy (Ryken) Lawyer. She grew up in Yankton, S.D., and spent every summer in Macy with her “adoptive parents” Willard and Violet Olofson, who spoiled her rotten. She worked at the Wagon Wheel Steakhouse, Laurel, and then became a truck driver. She drove truck all over the United States for over 25 years. She married Gary Wiemers Feb. 14, 2007. She later began trucking locally and started TLC Kennels where she loved spending time with and raising dogs. She then started her own trucking company, Wiemers Trucking Company and also worked part-time for her son.

Taryn was a hardworking, independent woman who could do it all. She helped remodel all of her children homes and always wanted to stay busy. She was a stable rock for her family and would help anyone in need. She loved just being home with a pot of coffee,a dog and a good book.

Survivors include her husband, Gary Wiemers, Dixon; four sons, Anthony (Tiffany) Lawyer, Laurel; Matthew (Marilyn) Lawyer, Omaha; Nicholas (Michelle) Lawyer, Laurel; and Austin Wiemers, Sioux City, Iowa; 15 grandchildren, Kiara (Jordan) Clausen, Reanna (Cole) Shanks, Tailynn, Jillian, Treytan, and Brynlie Lawyer; Madison, Adriana, Vaeda, Vaughn and Ryan Lawyer; and Isabella, Brooklyn, Jonathan and Benjamin Lawyer; three great-grandchildren, Raelynn, Colter and one on the way; three sisters, Patti (Rich) Larson, Yankton, S.D.; Jan (Kent) Nelson, Winter Haven, Fla.; and Tammi (Jeff) Breckenridge, Deadwood, S.D.; sister-in-law, Becky Lawyer, Lincoln.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Roger; sister, Susan; two brothers, Bill II and John; and a nephew, Luke.
