NORFOLK – Memorial services for Diane C. Erickson, 56, Randolph, will be held 11 a.m., April 13, at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Norfolk. Inurnment will be held at the Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m., Friday, at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Randolph.

Diane died March 30, 2024, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha.

Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Diane was born May 22, 1967, in Norfolk, to Joseph and Donna (Palecek) O’Brien. She attended grade school in Norfolk and graduated from Norfolk Senior High School. Diane received her hair stylist license at St. Joseph’s College and went on to Wayne State College and received her bachelor’s degree in political science. She moved to Randolph and worked at Monson & Holloway Law Firm at the time of her death.

Diane loved spending time with her family, which included swinging on the front porch and picking out toys for her grandkids. She also enjoyed spending time with her significant other, Stephen “Spide” Shaffer, going camping and hanging out at the lake. She loved decorating for the holidays, reading and keeping up with the news.

Diane is survived by her significant other of 28 years,Stephen “Spide” Shaffer; her children, daughter, Elizabeth (Jesse) Olson, Bennington; her son, Curt Erickson, Norfolk; her son, Jason (Amanda) Erickson, Osmond, and their children, Aubree, Gunnar, Myles and Oliver; and Dana Erickson, Waterloo, Iowa, and her children, Olivia and Beckett; her mother, Donna O’Brien, Norfolk; her siblings, Shane (Andrea) O’Brien, Norfolk; Jolene (Don) Groninger, Norfolk; Joe (Malissa) O’Brien, Rosemount, Minn.;Lori O’Brien, Omaha; Jaci (Steve) Rydberg, Portsmouth, Iowa; Jennifer (Tim) Grashorn, Norfolk; and Sarah O’Brien, Norfolk; along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.

She is preceded in death by her father, Joseph; and aunt, Rosemary Janovec.
