Shirley A. Kaiser

CROFTON — Shirley A. Kaiser, 86, Crofton, died peacefully June 27, 2021, at the Avera Sister James Care Center, Yankton, S.D.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., July 7, at the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Crofton, with Rev. An Duy Phan officiating.

Burial will be in the St. Boniface Cemetery, Menominee, at a later time.

Honorary pallbearers will be Shirley’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m., until service time Wednesday morning at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Crofton, Nebraska.

Shirley Ann Kaiser was born Nov. 1, 1934, in a little house west of Lindy, to Frank and Marie (Ehlers) Paulsen. She attended Crofton High School. Shirley married Daniel A. Kaiser Aug. 25, 1953, at the St. Boniface Catholic Church, Menominee. They had five children.

Shirley loved her bingo, scrapbooking, putting puzzles together, and cardinals. She also enjoyed embroidering and doing quilt blocks. Shirley was a homemaker and also worked for Avon for 45 years.

She was a member of the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and the Christian Mothers.

Shirley is survived by five children and spouses, Debbie (Myrle) Gilsdorf, Bloomfield; Diane (Clair) Arens, Crofton; Duane Kaiser, Crofton; Dennis Kaiser, Crofton; Dean (Carrie) Kaiser, Fruitland, Idaho; 10 grandchildren, Jason (Sarah) Strom, Jill and Garett Carnell, Nick (Tabatha) Gilsdorf, Sarah (Corey) Freidel, Jennifer and Todd Hoebelheinrich, Jeff and Kelsey Arens, Michael and Jessica Arens, Sarah and Victor Ramos, Ashley (Scott) Sterett, Tiffany and Cody Fletcher; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Darold (Dee) Paulsen, Crofton, and Donnie (Bonnie) Paulsen, Crofton; sisters-inlaw, Dorothy Wiebelhaus, Omaha, and Sheila Kaiser, Cincinnati, Ohio; and brothers-in-law, Carrol (Corinne) Kaiser, Mauston, Wis.; Ronnie (Mary) Kaiser, Mauston, Wis.; and Duane (Karen) Loecker, Crofton.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Kaiser, March 18, 2018, at the age of 88; her parents, Frank and Marie (Ehlers) Paulsen; baby brother, Gary; sisters-in-law, Shirley Loecker and Lagardis Ellis; and brothers-in-law, Dennis Wiebelhaus, Darold Kaiser and Wayne Ellis.
