Roger Eickhoff

MENIFEE, Calif.— Roger Eickhoff, 76, Menifee, Calif., died Nov. 8, 2021, at the Loma Linda University Health Center, Murrieta, Calif.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Dec. 1 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington, with the Rev. Owen Korte officiating.

Burial will be at St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington.

Visitation and a Vigil service were at the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington, and continued Wednesday, at church, one hour prior to services.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.

Roger was born Dec. 8, 1944, in Hartington, to Anthony and Teresa Eickhoff. He grew up on the family farm in Hartington, where they raised cattle, hogs and farmed crop land. He attended Holy Trinity grade school and high school. He enlisted in the Army in 1966 and served for two years. He served in Korea during this time. In 1969, he moved to California and started a landscaping business with his brother, Donny Eickhoff. They were irrigation contractors and eventually became general contractors. In 1971, they started Allied Sprinkler and ran their successful business for 50 years. In 1983, he married Anita in Chino, Calif., at St. Margaret’s Catholic Church and took on the role of Dad to her four children. They were happily married for 31 years, until her passing in 2014.

Roger was a hunter and enjoyed many hunting trips over his lifetime. He enjoyed gardening, building things, working on old cars and most importantly, spending time with his family.

Roger is survived by his children, Rick Moore, James Moore and Nicole Ernandes. He has 11 grandchildren, Kory Eickhoff, Erica Eickhoff, Sarah Eickhoff, Jordan Klaudt, Blake Moore, Samantha Moore, Jacob Moore, Logan Moore, Kali Moore, Tommy Ernandes and Abby Moore; three great-grandchildren, Averie Payer, Emerie Payer and Briella Eickhoff; his brothers and sisters, B’zie Hartman, Bob Eickhoff, Chaz Manby, Don Eickhoff, Joyce Most, Joanie Phlanz, Keith Eickhoff and Kevin Eickhoff.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 31 years, Anita Eickhoff; and his parents, Anthony and Teresa Eickhoff.
