Roberta Ann (Kritzmire) Hoesing

HARTINGTON — Roberta Ann (Kritzmire) Hoesing, 82, Hartington, formerly of Coleridge, died Nov. 23, 2021.

A celebration of life service will be held Dec. 3, at 1 p.m., at the Coleridge Community Building, Coleridge, with Shannon Arduser officiating.

Burial of her cremated remains will be at the St. Michael’s Cemetery, Hartington, following the service.

The family will be available at the Coleridge Community Building for an hour prior to the service to receive visitors. They would also invite people to join them for an open house, from 4-7 p.m., that evening at Roberta’s home at 701 W. Centre, in Hartington.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge.

Roberta was born Nov. 25, 1938, in Pierre, S.D., the eldest of eight children of Robert and Clara (Arends) Kritzmire. Roberta spent her early life in Sully and Turner counties in South Dakota, graduating from Parker High School, Parker, S.D., in 1956. She graduated from Presentation School of Nursing, Sioux Falls, S.D., in 1959, and then worked at Madison County Hospital and Sacred Heart Hospital in South Dakota.

She married Emery Hoesing Jan. 21, 1961, at Sacred Heart Church, Yankton, S.D. From this union, they raised six children, all of whom graduated from Holy Trinity Grade School and Cedar Catholic High School, Hartington.

During her life, Roberta was committed to using what God gave her to serve others. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She also contributed to the communities throughout Cedar County and the surrounding area. Roberta used her talents to minister to many people in many ways, with her cooking, sewing, leadership roles and volunteer service of all types. With God’s strength, Roberta was willing and able to face any challenge or adversity that came her way.

Her life’s long desire was for all people to come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior, to share in His grace, mercy and salvation.

She is survived by her six children: Damian (Patty) Hoesing, Lincoln; Darin (Dee) Hoesing, Coleridge; Clark Hoesing, Hartington; Elaine (Ed) Simpson, Lincoln; Clair (Emily) Hoesing, Beatrice; Angela (J.P.) Green, Lincoln; 14 grandchildren and their spouses, and six great-grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, along with their spouses, and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Hoesing; parents, Robert and Clara Kritzmire; one sister, one greatgrandchild, and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be directed to the Roberta Hoesing Family.
