LAUREL — Randal Lanser, 61, Laurel, died Dec. 3, 2017, near his home in Laurel. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Dec. 7, at First Lutheran Church, Allen. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Dec. 8, at First Lutheran Church Allen, with Rev. Chris Hjelmstad officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Dennis Schlines, Brian Hirchert, Tim Hill, Bruce Nelson, Kevin Erickson, Lyle Grone, Jeff Engel and Neil Blohm. Active pallbearers will be Nicholas Miller, Cody Miller, Jared Miller, Luke McCorkindale, Matt Dohma and Spencer Lowe. Interment will be in the Laurel Cemetery, Laurel. Arrangements are under the direction of Hasemann Funeral Home, Laurel. Randal Larry Lanser was born March 17, 1956, in Wakefield, to Larry and Shirley (Jensen) Lanser. He was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church, Allen. He attended and graduated from Allen High School in 1974, Marine Mechanic Training, and Cooling and Refrigeration Training. Randy was well known to everyone as “Shine.” Randy settled on a farm north of Laurel and began farming. He married Susan McCorkindale in June 1984. They had one son, Mitchel James. Randal married Annette Pritchard in November 2010. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, boating, water sports, traveling, cooking, socializing with friends, and listening to Jimmy Buffett. Randy always believed “Farming is not an occupation, it’s a lifestyle.” His idea of a perfect day would conclude with a sunset on the Missouri River. Randy is survived by his wife, Annette; daughters, Susan Pritchard, Sioux Falls, S.D.; Lori Prichard (fiancé, Spencer Lowe), Lincoln; and Amy Pritchard (fiancé, Matt Dohma), Newcastle; mother, Shirley Lanser, Allen; son, Mitchel Lanser, Wayne; brother, Gary Lanser, Okeechobee, Fla.; sister, Sue (Warren) Miller, Allen; sisters-in-law, Kandy Lanser, Laurel; Sandy (Dave) McCorkindale, Lincoln; Sherri (Jason) Korte, Waukee, Iowa; many aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, and nephews. Randy was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Lanser; father, Larry Lanser; and brother, Frank Lanser. Memorials may be directed to the Lanser Family for later designation.
