HARTINGTON — School officials at both Cedar Catholic and Hartington-Newcastle announced Monday afternoon their facilities would be closing for at least two weeks.
The decision was made after Gov. Pete Ricketts held a late afternoon press conference in Lincoln urging Nebraskans to all do their part to prevent the spread of the CODVI-19 coronavirus.
Earlier in the day the Nebraska School Activities Association announced a ban on all extra curricular practices and competitions at least through the end of March.
The CDC and Gov. Ricketts are recommending the cancellation of public assemblies with 10 or more people. Because of this, the Archdiocese of Omaha announced that all public Masses and communal celebrations of the Sacraments or other liturgies are indefinitely suspended.
