Doris died Sept. 23, 2023, at Arbor Care Center, Hartington. Her passing was just 24 days before her 95th birthday, which was a goal she wanted to achieve.

Doris Faye (Meyer) was born on a farm south of Randolph to Fred and Emma (Doose) Meyer, Oct. 17, 1928. She was the eighth in the family of nine children. Doris was baptized and confirmed at the Hoskins Zion Lutheran Church. She attended Rural District #39 for eight years, then attended Randolph High School, graduating in 1947. Doris married Delmer Greeno Aug. 22, 1948, at St. John’s Parsonage, Randolph. Delmer and Doris farmed, most of their years, one-half mile east of Magnet, where they raised their three children, Linda (Kieth) Folck, Warren (Beth) Greeno, and Theresa (Gene) Korth.

Doris was involved in many community projects such as Sunday School teacher, Magnet Gems 4-H Leader, Magnet Socialites, the Magnet Centennial, wedding coordinator at Thabor Lutheran Church, numerous church committees, upholstery and sewing business, and in her early years, as an Avon sales lady.

Delmer and Doris loved to travel and spent their winters in Texas. Delmer died in 1996. Doris stayed on the farm before moving into Wausa in 2008 while continuing to stay active in the community. Doris had been a resident of the Hartington Arbor Care Center since March 2023.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local food bank or charity.
