Diane S. Keim

WAKEFIELD - Diane S. Keim, 67, Wakefield, died Jan. 18, 2021, surrounded by her family at her home near Wakefield.

Memorial services will be March 13, at 11 a.m., at the Wakefield Cemetery, Wakefield. A memorial visitation will be held March 12, from 5-7 p.m., at the BresslerMunderloh-Smith Funeral Home, Wakefield. A luncheon will be held Saturday following the memorial service at the Wakefield VFW building.

Diane was born Oct. 27, 1953, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Francis and Shirley (Rowland) Pembrook. She attended Harlington High School, where she excelled at volleyball and track and was a member of the pep club and band. Following her graduation from Hartington High School in 1972, Diane attended Wayne State College. She married Thomas Keim Feb. 28, 1976, in Lincoln, and they had three children, Adam, Heath and Melanie.

For most her adult career, Diane worked at the ESU #1 in Wakefield as an accountant. She was a member of the Wakefield School Board, serving one year as President.

Diane enjoyed gardening, traveling, reading, quilting with the “Loose Threads” group, most of all she enjoyed attending her children and grandchildren’s activities.

Diane is survived by her husband, Tom. Wakefield; son, Heath (Meridith Collins) Keim, Kearney; daughter, Melanie (Brent) Leonard, Beemer; three grandchildren, Bailey, Mason and Blake Leonard; sister, Pam (Val) Doescher, Apache Junction, Ariz; brother, Larry Pembrook, Hartington; and many nieces, nephews, pets and grandpets.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Shirley Pembrook, and son, Adam Keim.
