Cedar golfers maintain a busy schedule

HARTINGTON — The Cedar Catholic girls golf team has had a busy few days.

The local team hosted a triangular here Thursday, then traveled to Albion Saturday for an invitational before wrapping things up Monday by hosting their own invitational at the Hartington Golf Course.

Pierce fired a 203 Thursday to win the triangular here, besting Cedar by seven strokes.

Delayne Sudbeck led all golfers Thursday with a 40 to earn medalist honors.

Bailey Wuebben also had a good day on the home course with a 47 to earn second-place honors. Becca Albrecht of Pierce was third with a 48.

Sudbeck again used her home course to her advantage on Monday, beating the rest of the field to earn medalist honors with a 92. Her closest competitor, Hope Swanson of Laurel, finished five strokes behind for runner-up honors.

On Saturday, Sudbeck fired a 98 to finish in sixth place at the Boone Central Invitational. Cedar finished fifth as a team in that event.
