CROFTON — Bruce G. Uhing, 46, Crofton, formerly of Hartington, died April 2, 2020, at his residence.

No services are being planned at this time. A public Memorial service will be held at a later date.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington. Bruce Gerald Uhing was born Jan.

Bruce Gerald Uhing was born Jan. 24, 1974, in Yankton, S.D., to Gerald Clarence “Jerry” and Claudette Marie (Lentz) Uhing. He grew up in Hartington and attended Hartington Public High School. He received his GED while living in Yankton. Bruce lived in Wisconsin, Michigan, and Columbus, Neb., before moving to Crofton three years ago.

Bruce was very active in Alcoholics Anonymous and started a group in Crofton. He loved music, art, reading, and especially his cat, Sunshine. Bruce was a very loving uncle to his nieces and nephews.

Bruce is survived by his father, Gerald “Jerry” Uhing, Hartington; sister, Amy Uhing, Hartington; brother, Chad (Jen) Uhing, Fordyce; two nieces, Karsen and Claudia Uhing; three nephews, Michael Pinkelman Jr., Kaeden Gale and James Uhing.

Bruce was preceded in death by his mother, Claudette Uhing, May 2, 2006, at the age of 58; and brother-in-law, Michael Pinkelman Sr.
