Posted in:

HARTINGTON — A course for anyone with an interest in the day or nighttime sky will be offered soon by Northeast Community College in Hartington.

The class, Beginning Observational Astronomy (HORC 5110/20F & CRN #60285) will meet Sept. 28, from 6:30-9:30 p.m., at Hartington Public Library.

With instructor Mark Urwiller, participants will explore concepts of celestial mechanics, types of objects to view day or night, and equipment that can be used to enjoy the sky. This class will help anyone enjoy the sky without special equipment, use the equipment they already have, or select equipment to buy if they desire to take their interest to the next level.

The class is updated to include information on astronomical events coming within the current year. Participants are asked to bring a laptop with them.

Pre-registration is required. To register, call the Northeast Community College Regional Office in Hartington at (402) 254-6224.
