HARTINGTON — Hartington looked like the right town for Dr. Jay Bernecker and his family to call home.

There are several things about Hartington that attracted Bernecker and his wife Miranda – the pool, the parks, the schools and the number of stores that are in town.

HARTINGTON — Northeast Community College will soon be moving into town.

Hartington Economic Development approached the city Aug. 12 to ask if they would furnish an office for a NECC regional coordinator.

“They would like to have a parttime 15 hours per week regional education center coordinator to be housed in Hartington,” Becker said.

The city approved the motion following a short discussion.

The person in this position would identify program and training needs of the region and represent the college at county and other meetings.
