LAUREL — Chris Peterka, of Yankton, who is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Don Brittell, Laurel, hit a hole-in-one at Yankton’s Fox Run Municipal Golf Course Tuesday.

LAUREL — Joedy and Carmen Cunningham, Laurel, welcomed their son, Phillip Helmute into the world Sept. 23. He weighed 8 pounds, 2 ounces. Gerry and Ardis Cunningham are the grandparents. Greatgrandparents of the babe are Etelka Magyofa, Hungary, and Mr. and Mrs. Glen Stingley, who live in Randolph.

LAUREL — Colleen Fiegener, daughter of Marv and Shirley Wickett, Laurel, has been chosen as this year’s Supervisor of the Year for the Nebraska Department of Social Services. She has been with the NDSS since 1986 and in the Falls City office since May 1990.

LAUREL — Mark Stone, son of Neal and Marlene Stone, Laurel, and Samantha Felber, daughter of Dave and Linda Felber, were named Homecoming King and Queen this year.

LAUREL — The Nebraska Renewable Energy Fair was held at the Cedar County Fairgrounds Sept. 18.

About 250 people attended from as far away as Colorado, Kansas, and Oklahoma and of course, Nebraska, to learn more about renewable energy.
