Jule was born Dec. 9, 1949, to Julius “Jude” and Joy (Hinkle) Olberding in Randolph. He attended Saint Frances Grade School and High School, graduating from there in 1968. Jule wanted to spread his wings so he and a friend moved to California mid to late 1969. It didn’t take long for them to discover that packing celery for a living didn’t pay the rent and afford many luxuries. The two shared one small Honda motorcycle as their only means of transportation. They attended several rock concerts and attempted surfing while living in the Bakersfield area. They returned later to Nebraska humbled by their experiences while living there. Jule moved back to California for a love interest which didn’t last long, once again returning to his Nebraska roots.

Jule was married in 1976. To this union, two children were born, Crissia and Kelly.

Jule worked for Olberding Brothers Elevator until they retired in 1979, then he became an over-the-road truck driver for many years until his retirement.

Jule’s fascination with Harley Davidson motorcycles started early in his life and spanned many decades. His first motorcycle was a 59 Pan Head. The second one was an 80 Wide Glide. The next bike was a 72 Shovel Head. His last Harley was a 2006 Street Glide. Many memories were made on these motorcycles. Jule was one of Nebraska Cornhuskers’ biggest fans. He watched every football and volleyball game that he possibly could, referring to the volleyball team as “his girls.” He also enjoyed telling stories, and visiting with family and friends. Watching TV in later years became a favorite pass time in his home. Gunsmoke being one of Jule’s favorites.

Jule is survived by his children, Crissia, from California, and Kelly, from Iowa; three grandchildren, Joe, Josh and Valor; and one great-grandson. He is also survived by one brother, Joedy, Norfolk; and two sisters, Jane Immens, Worthington, Minn.; and Jackie and Jay Schreurs, Mitchell, S.D.; one aunt, Rose Edna Rohde; and also, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
