COLERIDGE — Bradley Alan Specht, age 66 of Coleridge died at his residence on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2026, after a battle with cancer for several years. Funeral Services will be on Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. at the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ in Coleridge with Rev. Kathleen Splitt officiating. Visitation was on Tuesday, at church, from 5-8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue one hour prior to services. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home in Coleridge. Pallbearers will be Isaac Riley, Elijah Griffith, Shawn Griffith, Russell Dirks, Dennis Heitman, Brian Riley, Keith “Bo” Zwickl and Zachariah Zwickl. Bradley Alan was born on March 14, 1960, in Yankton, S.D., to Edward James and Beverly Rae (Milander) Specht. He grew up in Coleridge and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1978 where he played his favorite sport of football. After graduation, Brad started his truck driving career out at the oil fi elds in Enid, Okla., where he hauled oil and other supplies across the country for several years. He also worked on a ranch in Wyoming and built steel buildings for numerous years. When Brad and Kathy moved back to Coleridge, Brad again took up truck driving for Circle E Grain.

Brad loved Harley Davidson motorcycles and bought his first Harley Shovelhead when he graduated from high school. He married Kathy May McAnally on June 6, 1992 in Coleridge. Together they took motorcycle trips travelling to Sturgis and the Red River Run among others. Brad also liked to hunt deer and pheasants and take in a day of fishing. He also loved woodworking and building and built many things for his kids and grandkids. Brad was always willing to lend a helping hand to a friend or family member. He was a big-hearted teddy bear.

Brad is survived by his wife Kathy of Coleridge; three children Jamie (Brian) Riley of Coleridge, Jennifer Pitchford of Coleridge, Christopher Atkinson of Fayetteville, Ark.; his mother Beverly Specht of Coleridge; siblings Deb (Kevin) Wacker of Laurel, Jim (Cherine) Specht of Hartington, Janelle (Mike) Fiscus of Coleridge; eight grandchildren; Issac Riley, Elijah Griffith, Shawn Griffith, Alexus Riley, Alexandria Specht and Raemayah Riley; two great granddaughters, Roza Valadez and Hazel Blue Griffith; several nieces and nephews; three sisters-inlaw Linda Burris of Highland, Ark., Terri Zwickl of Hutchinson, Kan., and Della Harmon of Highland, Ark.

He was preceded in death by his father Edward James Specht; parents- in-law Rex (Eva) McAnally; Kathy’s step-father Delbert Harmon.
