Stonacek Funeral Chapel, Randolph, is in charge of the arrangements. Tom was born March 16, 1938, in Sweets, Utah, and was the fifth child of Willam Albert Hanna and Jessie Deveneth Ballard. He grew up knowing the charity of others and established a personality of strength and humor which guided him throughout his life. Tom attended school in Wellington, Utah, and graduated high school from Price, Utah, in 1956, before moving to the Lander, Wyo., area and meeting his sweetheart, Barbara Joyce Gallinger. They were married June 7, 1959, and sealed for all time and eternity in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple on Nov. 14,1997.

Tom and Barb shared many adventures in their lives, but probably none greater than accepting a beekeeper position with Miller Honey Company and moving their young family to Randolph in 1970.

Tom shared a smile and a laugh with all those he met and was often finding ways to help others. He could strike up a conversation with anyone, and as a result has made lasting friendships all across the nation. Tom found joy and comfort in music and could be heard singing or whistling almost every day. Tom grew a love for sports early in life, and after supporting years of his kids’ activities, he found joy in watching the Huskers. Besides sports, Tom shared his love of the outdoors with his kids. Hunting, fishing or boating were all a possibility after doing the bee work. He passed this love as well as his knowledge of the bees on to his boys, who continue Tom’s love of adventure and understanding of hard work on to the next generation.

Tom is survived by his wife of 67 years, Barb Hanna; sons, Dean and Becky Hanna, Mike and Connie Hanna, and Steve and Brandi Hanna; and daughter, Melissa and Russell Eckstein; grandchildren, Robbyn and John Frost, TJ and Ioana Hanna, Makayla and Jon Brockhaus, Nolan and Jessica Hanna, Bryson Eckstein, Caden Eckstein, Reese Hanna, Cooper Eckstein, Abbi Eckstein and Libby Eckstein; as well as great-grandchildren, Trey, Cole, Madison, Audrey, Brooks, Myla, Graham, Carsen and Camden.

He is proceeded in death by his son, Jeff Hanna; grandson, Bryan Hanna; his siblings, Joanne, Gib, Mona and Figs; his parents, Albert Hanna and Jessie Petersen; his in-laws, Carl and Joy Gallinger; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and friends.
