Joe was born in 1958, in Yankton, S.D., to Lyle and Mary Lanphear. He was raised in Hartington, where he attended Hartington Public School.

Joe was known for his great sense of humor, kind heart, and ability to make people smile. He was deeply loved by his family and friends, who will cherish the many memories they shared with him throughout the years.

Throughout his life, Joe worked in a variety of occupations, always willing to take on new challenges and work hard to provide for himself and those he cared about. Of all the jobs he held, driving a truck was his greatest passion. He enjoyed the freedom of the open road and took pride in his work as a truck driver.

Joe will be remembered for his laughter, his hardworking spirit, and the love he shared with those around him. His presence will be greatly missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

Joe is survived by his two daughters, Mandy Lanphear and Tracey Lanphear; his son, Casey Lanphear; his grandchildren, Christopher, Cierra and Jackson Lanphear; and his great-grandson, Bryson. He is also survived by two brothers, Lyle wife, Laura, and son ,Lyle III; and Chris Lanphear; and one sister, Ellen Bonertz.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lyle and Mary Lanphear; his sister, Beverly Lanphear; and his nephews, Steven Reece Lanphear and Andrew Bonertz.

Joe’s family and friends will gather to celebrate his life and honor the memories he leaves behind.
