RANDOLPH — Funeral services for Rita V. Isom, 92, Randolph, will be June 25, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph. Interment will be at Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery, Norfolk. Father Kevin Vogel will officiate the services. Visitation will be June 24, from 4-7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. vigil service, at St. Jane Frances de Chantal Catholic Church, Randolph. Rita died June 18, 2026, at the Osmond General Hospital, Osmond, surrounded by her loving family. Stonacek Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Rita was born June 28, 1933, to Werner Burbach Jr. and Theresa (Schmidt) Burbach. Rita was the youngest of ten children. She attended country school until the third grade, when she transferred to Cedar Catholic School, Hartington. In 1950, she graduated as salutatorian. After a year working at the county courthouse in the Social Services office, she joined her father’s State Farm Insurance agency until hermarriage. However, her most cherished role was as a mother to her seven children, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her unwavering support and love for her family helped them navigate both triumphs and challenges. Rita married Roley Isom Jr. Aug. 28, 1958, at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington. Their marriage spanned over 55 years.
Rita found joy in sewing, creating matching outfits for her children and grandchildren. She also made hand-embroidered baby blankets for each of her grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed fishing trips and engaging in card games with her family. Additionally, she was an avid reader and a passionate supporter of Nebraska sports. She rarely missed a Husker game on TV or radio. Rita enjoyed listening to Polka and country music as well as daily Mass on TV.
Rita was an active member of several organizations. She belonged to St. Jane Francis Catholic Church, participated in Christian Mothers, and taught CCD for many years. She was also involved with the Church Circle, Sholes Club, prayer groups, 4-H, and the Wayne County Sherman Precinct Elections Board.
Rita is survived by her three daughters, Jolene Isom - Chandler, Ariz.; Janet Isom, Scottsdale, Ariz.; and Mayvonne Stewart, Chandler, Ariz.; four sons, Kelly and Peggy, Randolph; Rodney and Joni, Page; Loren and Bonnie, Lincoln; and Bradley and Corrin, Colorado Springs, Colo.; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Emery White, Sisseton, S.D.; and sisters-inlaw, Karen (Isom) Burns, Fremont, and Leonard and Ilene (Isom) Guinn, Omaha.
Rita was preceded in death by her parents, Werner Burbach Jr. and Theresa Schmidt Burbach; her husband, Roley; her father-in-law, Roley Isom Sr.; mother- in-law, Bessie (Silhacek) Isom Garrett; and step father-in-law, Marvin Garrett; her granddaughter, Mataya Stewart, and infant grandson, Tyler Stewart; her siblings and in-laws, Julius and Bernice Burbach, Leone and Ferdy Wortmann, Pete and Eleanor Burbach, Rudy and Gail Burbach, Theodore Burbach, Gerald and Mary Burbach, Reiny and Martha Burbach, Rosemary Burbach White, and Monica and Maurice Moser.
