WAYNE — Services for Amy L. Rasmussen, 66, York, a Carroll native, will be 10:30 a.m., April 16, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wayne.
Her brother, the Rev. Joseph Finn, will celebrate the funeral Mass.
Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Wednesday, at the church, followed by a 7 p.m. rosary.
Interment will be at a later date at the Rose Hill Cemetery, near Pender.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Hasemann Funeral Home, Wayne.
Amy Rasmussen was born Amy Louise Finn Oct. 22, 1959, in Wayne. She died April 7, 2026, at the Crowell Memorial Home, Blair, following a prolonged illness.
Amy grew up on the Finn family farm northeast of Carroll and was known for her strong work ethic. She attended rural school District 68 in Wayne County before graduating from Laurel-Concord High School in 1978. She was an active Wayne County 4-H’er, carrying a variety of projects.
Amy had an endless love and knowledge for plants, working for several nurseries across eastern Nebraska before and after earning her associate’s degree in horticulture. She also was a talented seamstress.
Her faith was a guiding light and comfort throughout her life. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, York.
Amy is survived by her husband of 23 years, Gary Rasmussen, York, as well as her three children and six grandchildren, Kelly Hitchcock Hochanadel, Austin, Texas, and her husband, Mike, and their twin daughters, Alexandra and Elise; Sam Hitchcock, Springfield, Mo., and his wife, Cherrelle, and their sons, Kael, Ezekiel and Joel; and Theresa Joy (Hitchcock) Holt, East Alton, Ill., and her spouse, Jerica, and the infant daughter they are expecting in the coming weeks Also surviving are her seven siblings and their spouses, Mary Pat and Mike Hoag, Norfolk; Sally Stahlecker, Norfolk; Alan and Deb Finn, Wayne; Eileen Finn, Papillion; Mike and Lori Finn, Winside; Annette Finn, Omaha; and the Rev. Joseph Finn, Lincoln.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick and Marilyn (Brich) Finn, Carroll; and brother-in-law, Russ Stahlecker, Norfolk.
Amy loved flowers, and the family asks that they be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Wayne.
