Milton Bethune WAYNE — A Memorial Service for Milton J. Bethune, 78, Wayne, was April 6 at Home for Funerals Chapel, Norfolk. Rev. Jim Splitt officiated.

Milton died March 31, 2026, at the Tabitha Journey House, Lincoln.

Milton James was born April 17, 1947, in Norfolk, to Earl and Dorothy (Staben) Bethune. He grew up in Randolph. Milton was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Randolph. He graduated from Randolph High School. Following graduation, Milton joined the United States Air Force and proudly served our country from July of 1965 until December of 1968. After his military service, Milton farmed with his father until 1981.

Milton was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Onawa, Iowa, and a member of American Legion Post 159, Beemer. In July 2024, he received a Quilt of Valor from Sandra Fuoss, Lyons.

Milton is survived by his sons, Jamie (Dawn) Bethune, Onawa, Iowa; Scott (Jenee) Bethune, Columbus; and Nic (Leah) Bethune, Lincoln; grandchildren, Cody, Will, Cole, Ashtyn, Shelby, Rylan and Taeya; and sister, LaNeta (Robert) Berger, Norfolk.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Dreamer’s Place Equestrian Ranch, 85726 575 Avenue, Wayne, NE 68787.
