WAYNE — Wayne R. Ulrich, 85, Wayne, formerly of Wakefield, died Feb. 6, 2026, at Wayne Countryview Care. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Feb. 11 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, Wayne. Visitation was Tuesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church. Arrangements were with Hasemann Funeral Home, Wayne. Interment, with Military Rites, will be at Greenwood Cemetery, Wayne. Wayne Richard Ulrich was born Oct. 15, 1940, on a farm near Randolph, to Harlan Amandus and Nola Mildred (Gregerson) Ulrich. He was baptized and confirmed at the Congregational Church, Coleridge. He attended Cedar Center rural school near Coleridge and graduated from Coleridge High School in 1958. Wayne served in the United States Air Force from 1958-1962. He married Karen Sherer Feb. 23, 1963, at First Presbyterian Church, Wayne. The couple lived in Wayne, Carroll, Wakefield and then returned to Wayne. He was employed at Milton G. Waldbaum Company, Wakefield, retiring from Michael Foods in October 2007.

He enjoyed hunting and was an avid Cornhusker fan. Most of all he enjoyed being involved in his grandchildren’s lives.

Wayne is survived by his daughters, Tammy (Brian) Foote,Wayne; and Pam (Harley) Henderson, Wayne; six grandchildren, Jeremy Foote, Brandon Foote, Cory Foote, Cody Henderson, Jessie McCain and Brady Henderson; eight great-grandchildren, Easton Foote, Alex Foote, Eli Foote, Andrew Foote, Cameron Foote, Beckett Foote, Miles McCain and Parker McCain; sister-in-law, Carol Ulrich, Tennessee; and many nieces and nephews.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents,Harlan and Mildred Ulrich; wife, Karen, May 19, 2023; brother, Dean Ulrich; sister, Karen (Larry) Sherer; and parents-in-law, Ralph and Berniece (Dennis) Sherer.
