A Mass of Christian Burial will be Jan. 29, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Constance, with the Rev. Marcus Knecht officiating.
Burial will be at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Constance.
Pallbearers will be Leon Jansen, Rick Jansen, Robert Jansen, Jody Albrecht, Brian Thoene, Tim Burbach and Darlo Jansen.
Honorary pallbearer will be Jeffrey Walter.
Visitation will be Thursday, at church, from 9-11 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.
Randall Gerard was born Sept. 4, 1962, in Yankton, S.D., to Martin Anton and Alice Clara (Shaefer) Jansen. Randy grew up in the Hartington and Crofton areas, graduating from Crofton High School in 1980. Randy began working for Ron Burbach for many years and transitioned to Jerry’s Servicein Hartington, where he drove a fuel truck for many years. He was a hard working farmer and rancher and loved wrenching on vehicles. He was a cowboy and loved the outdoors.
Randy was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Hartington. He loved to ride his motorcycles, four-wheelers, and Camero. He liked to work on his older Cameros and go hunting. Randy also enjoyed doing leather work and making his own horse tack. Randy loved to ride his horses as well.
Randy is survived by his five children, Cody Jansen (Nikki Putnam), Alison Jansen (Xavier Shiu), Atlanta, Ga.; Grace (Jared) Bessmer, Plainview; Austin Jansen, Hartington; Aspen Jansen, Osmond; granddaughter, Aubrey Putnam; brothers, Leon Jansen, Rick Jansen and Robert Jansen; sisters, Yawni Conrad, Karla Drotzmann, Kristi Trimble, Jamie Hassenstab, and Rhonda Jansen.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Alice Jansen; brother, Jay Jansen; sisters, Jodi Jansen and Phyllis Jansen; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Jansen.
