Robert Virgil “Rob” Morris was born May 6, 1947, in Dodge City, Kan., to John Max and Helen Irene (Preston) Morris. After graduating from high school, Rob graduated from the University of Kansas. He served as a proud United States Marine during the Vietnam War, from December 1968 to June 1977, attaining the rank of Marine Corps Captain. He was a C130 pilot, and was one of the last to leave Saigon as the war came to a close.
He was a dedicated owner and operator of Northland Transportation in Laurel for many years. As an avid runner/walker, many in the Laurel community knew Rob.
Rob’s family includes fiancé, Pat Christensen; daughter, Amy (Morris) Wagner; grandson, Nathan Wagner; granddaughter, Nikole Wagner; sisters, Karen (Tal) Campbell and Beth Rhoten; brothers, Tommy (Betty) Morris and Larry Morris; good friend and business partner, Todd (Shana) Erwin; nieces, nephews and cousins.
Rob was preceded in death by his grandparents; parents, John and Helen; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Donations in Rob’s memory are suggested to the family for later designation.
