Dolores Meier

COLERIDGE — Dolores J. Meier, 91, Coleridge, died Dec. 28, 2025, at the Osmond General Hospital.

Funeral services will be on Jan. 3 at the Pilgrim Congregational United Church of Christ, Coleridge, with the Rev. Terry Buol ociating. Burial will be at the Coleridge City Cemetery at a later date.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dolores’ grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation with her body present will be on Saturday from 10- 11 a.m.

at the church.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Coleridge.

Dolores Jean Janssen was born March 22, 1934, in Coleridge, to Er nest Albert and Berniece (Hubbard) Janssen. She attended country school and then graduated from Coleridge High School in 1951. Dolores married Jacob Charles Meier Oct. 28, 1951, in Hardy, Ark. She and Jacob had four children Vicky, Rod, Brian, and Lori. Dolores was the head cook at the Coleridge School and held this position for 23 years, retiring in 1996.

Dolores is especially remembered by a large number of school kids for her chili and cinnamon rolls.

Dolores kept busy in her community and her church as she held various positions in those organizations. She was a past Cub Scout leader, Girl Scout leader and 4-H leader. Dolores worked at the Embers Assisted Living in the kitchen and helped with crafts. She was a member of the Coleridge American Legion Auxiliary and received the Coleridge Christians Caring Community Service Award in 2022.

Dolores especially enjoyed

spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren and going to their activities. In her spare time, she enjoyed coee with her friends, reading, doing her puzzle in the paper, knitting, crocheting, needlework, and doing dierent kinds of crafts.

Dolores liked watching Husker volleyball, football, and sports of all kinds.

Dolores is survived by her three children, Vicky (Mel) Gullicksen, Coleridge; Rod (Lori) Meier, Nor -

folk; Brian (Kelly) Meier, Klam - oth Falls, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; two sis ters, Deanna Anderson, Mountain

Lake, Minn., and Debra (Gary) Sta- pelman, Sioux Falls, S.D.; many niec es, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Berniece Janssen; mother, Kathryn Janssen; husband, Jacob, July 10, 2009, at the age of 79; daughter, Lori; sister, Car - ole Nordby; a brother, Terry Janssen; son-in-law, Rick Leapley; grandson, Mark Leapley; and great-grandson, Braxton Gullicksen.
