LINCOLN — Thomas A. Becker, 72, Lincoln, formerly of St. Helena, died Dec. 8, 2025, in Lincoln after a short illness. He is the son of Jerome and Mildred Becker.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial was Dec. 13 at Holy Family (Immaculate Conception) Catholic Church, St. Helena, with the Rev. Jim Keiter officiating.

Burial of his cremated remains were at the Immaculate Conception cemetery, rural St. Helena. The family received relatives and friends one hour prior to services Saturday.

Arrangements were under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Hartington.

Honorary pallbearers were his nephews and nieces, Travis Becker, Todd Becker, Curt Becker, Kylie Krepel, Jason Becker, Adam Becker and Sara Mills.

Tom was born Feb. 11, 1953, to Jerome and Mildred (Schulte) Becker. He grew up on a farm in the St. Helena area and graduated from Wynot High School in 1971. Tom received a bachelor of science in business administration, with an emphasis in accounting, from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, in 1977. Upon graduation, he worked seven years for the Nebraska Department of Revenue budget office. In 1985, he joined the University of Nebraska and worked there for 32 years in the budget office and for the College of Education and Human Sciences. He lived in Lincoln until his death.

Tom was a member of a local Ski Club and loved to go skiing in Colorado. He was an avid marathon runner in his early years. He also enjoyed traveling to New Zealand and scuba diving in the Caribbean.

He enjoyed gardening, raising beets, tomatoes and other vegetables, and loved going to Nebraska Cornhusker football games.

Tom is survived by his six brothers and sisters and their spouses, Tim Becker (Mary), Yankton, S.D.; Keith Becker (Carol), Emerson; Kevin Becker, Shirley (Joe) Zimmerman and Cindy Becker, all of St. Helena; Louise Vale (Paul), Ft. Collins, Colo.; seven nieces and nephews, Travis Becker (Krista), Todd Becker (Stacie), Curt Becker (Tiff), Kylie Krepel (Chris), Jason Becker (Daisy), Sara Mills (Kevin), and Adam Becker (Samantha).

He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerome and Mildred Becker.
