RANDOLPH — Funeral service for Debra S. Thompson, 71, of Randolph, was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 22, 2025 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Randolph. PMA Dwight Brummels officiated the service. Interment was held at the Prospect View Cemetery, rural Pierce. Visitation was held on Friday, Nov. 21, at the Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Randolph. Debra passed away on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 at her residence in Randolph, NE. Stonacek Funeral Chapel in Randolph was in charge of the arrangements.

Debra was born on June 24, 1954 in Norfolk, Nebraska to Orville and Bernice (Meyer) Luebe. She was baptized September 12, 1954 and confirmed on April 7, 1968, both at the Zion East Lutheran Church, rural Hoskins. Debra attended grade school at the rural District School #60, rural Pierce and graduated from Pierce High School in 1972. She then attended and graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1976 earning her degree in Home Economics and Family Consumer Science.

After her graduation, Debra moved to Atkinson and taught Home Economics. She then moved back to Pierce and worked as a receptionist at Dance Studio in Norfolk. Debra also worked 22 years at Romans Meat Locker in Norfolk.

She married Kippy “Kip” Thompson on May 5, 1984 at Zion East Lutheran Church, rural Hoskins. After marriage, they lived in Norfolk until 1996 when they moved to Randolph. Debra then worked at Young Williams Call Center for 16 years in Wausa. She later helped her son Trent at the Pierce Lockers. Debra enjoyed canning, her flower beds, and sewing. She was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Randolph.

Survivors include her husband Kip Thompson of Randolph, sons Jared (Sara) Thompson of McLean, Trent (Amanda) Thompson of Randolph, Adam (Emily) Thompson of Sholes, three grandchildren Colt Thompson, Sutton Thompson, Parker Thompson, mother-in-law Phyllis Thompson of Laurel, siblings Kent Luebe of Pierce, Kirk Luebe of Pierce, Julie (Kevin) Krueger of Ravenna, Jane (Jim) Peters of Pierce, her brother-in-law Jim Herian of Pierce, and many nieces and nephews.

Debra was preceded in death by her parents Orville and Bernice Luebe, sisters Gayle Sporleder, Diane Herian, brother-in-law Bill Sporleder, and sister-in-law Kathy Luebe.

Casket bearers were Mike Sporleder, Chris Luebe, Matt Herian, Jason Peters, Joe Mikkelsen, Zach Meyer, Brent Hinspeter, and Mike Riibe. Condolences may be expressed to the family on-line at www. stonacekfuneralchapel.com.
