Becky Fritz

OMAHA — Rebecca “Becky” Lea (Pehrson) Fritz was born July 25, 1949, to Stanley and Kathryn (Wickett) Pehrson, and died peacefully at her home Nov. 5, 2025, after her courageous battle with ALS.

Becky was a bright spirit who loved fiercely and served selflessly. She played organ and piano at the United Presbyterian Church, Laurel, for 35 years, then in numerous surrounding area churches to include those in Thurston, Coleridge, Wakefield and Newcastle, until ALS robbed her of the ability. Her passion for music was surpassed only by her passion for watching her grandchildren grow. She was always their biggest cheerleader. Becky wore her heart on her sleeve and truly was love in action – always reminding her family that “God is Bigger Than the Boogeyman.”

Becky is survived by her husband, David Fritz; children, Jennifer (Brian) Penne, Jonathan (Carla) Fritz, and Julia (Spencer) Evers; and her grandchildren, McKenzie and Kaleb Penne; Christian, Benjamin and Cadence Fritz; and Brooklynn and Kaitlynn Evers; older sisters, Jane (Dennis) Wright and Diane Eickhoff; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by parents, Stanley and Kathryn Pehrson. A Memorial Service will be held Dec. 5, at 11 a.m., at Presbyterian Church of the Cross, 1517 S 114th St., Omaha; with a Celebration of Life from 10:30 a.m. -12:30 p.m., Dec. 6, at the United Presbyterian Church, Laurel.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to ALS in the Heartland, 1915 N 121st St, Omaha, NE 68154 or Camp Calvin Crest, 2870 Co. Rd. 13, Fremont, NE.
