Arrangements are under the direction of the Wintz Funeral Home, Laurel.
Greg was born March 22, 1960, to Gerald and Elane (Mertz) Miller. He grew up in Fonda, Iowa, with his two brothers and four sisters. As a young man he enlisted in the Army, serving as a tactical Wire Operations Specialist with the 194th. Greg married Julie Chase and together they raised three children.
Greg also served as a volunteer firefighter during those years. Greg had a lifelong love of Iowa and later Nebraska football, fishing and hunting. One of his proudest accomplishments was starting a softball team for the kids not picked for the regular teams. Greg was together with Kimberly Lee Wales for 14 years and they were officially married March 16, 2022, in Laurel.
Greg is survived by his wife, Kim; children, Franny (Bill) Mohrhauser, Adel, Iowa; Anna (Brad) Wilson of Fonda, Iowa; and Nick Miller, Fonda, Iowa; step children, Dena Mehrens (Dan Keifer), Laurel, and Apryl (Chris) Kizzire, Emmet; siblings, Sandy (John) Kramer of Pocahontas, Iowa; Bruce (Teresa) Miller, Alta, Iowa; Les (Pam) Miller, Laurens, Iowa; 10 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gerald and Elane Miller; three sisters, Chris, Marcia and Brenda; and a step son.
