Mary Ann Seibert NORFOLK -- Funeral service for Mary Ann Seibert, 92, Norfolk, were May 31 at Stonacek Funeral Chape, Norfolk. Rev. Brian Johnson was the officiant for the service. Interment was at the Laurel City Cemetery, Laurel, following the funeral luncheon. Mary Ann died May 26, 2025, at the Norfolk Veterans Home. Mary Ann was born Sept. 6, 1932, at Coleridge, to William and Lillie (Jones) Hinrichs. She graduated from Laurel High School with the class of 1950. She then went to Wayne Normal College and received her teaching certificate. She taught for one year and then went to work for the Laurel telephone company.

Mary Ann married Wayne Seibert June 3, 1954, at United Presbyterian Church, Laurel. The couple then lived in Laurel for a year, then moved to the Seibert family farm 10 miles north of Laurel.

Mary Ann helped on the farm, enjoyed baking, canning and sewing, and took great care and pride with her garden. She also belonged to the Tuesday Country Club. They moved off the farm to Norfolk in 2007. They were members of First Presbyterian Church in Norfolk. She was active in the church, serving as a deacon and elder throughout the years.

Mary Ann volunteered at the food pantry, and always lent a helping hand when it was needed, along with spending time at the Orphan Grain Train. Wayne and Mary Ann moved to the Norfolk Veterans Home in 2023.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne Seibert, Norfolk; four daughters, Kimberly Wetjen, Humphrey; Laurie Seibert, Tulsa, Okla.; Jane Seibert, Marlton, N.J.; Paula (Paul) Perske, David City; three grandchildren, Kara (Tim) Gronenthal, Justin (Sheena) Wetjen and Olivia Perske; greatgrandchildren, Allissia (Bryan) Harms, Ashley Gronenthal, Elsie Wetjen, Ciera Predmore, Corbin Predmore and Saige Predmore; great-great-grandchildren, Danielle, Brynleigh and Hayden; siblings, Shirley (Mike) Bruce, Frisco, Texas, and Jim (Deb) Hinrichs, Chillicothe, Mo.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillie; son-in-law, Larry Wetjen; grandson-in-law, Jeff Gronenthal; siblings and in-laws, Doris (Lloyd) Hansen, Phyllis (Carsten) Graverholt, Norma (Martin) Hansen, George (Audrey) Hinrichs, Lois (Bernie) Hinck, and infant brother, Carroll.
