ST. HELENA — Floyd L. Schmidt, 63, St. Helena, died April 15, 2025, at the Good Samaritan Center, Bloomfield.

Mass of Christian Burial was April 22 at Holy Family Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, St. Helena, with Rev. Jim Keiter officiating. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial followed at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery, St. Helena. Floyd was born Nov. 22, 1961, in Yankton, S.D., to Leonard and Jean (Nedved) Schmidt. He lived his whole life on the home place. His favorite past time was visiting with people, and sharing stories and the garden produce. Every year he would try to surpass the biggest potato from before. Survivors include his four brothers, David, Steven, Neil and Ross Schmidt; two sisters, Cindy Kennedy and Carol Schmidt; nieces and nephews, Cassie Schmidt, Paden and Abigail Schmidt, and Brittany Joseph, and Kayla Kennedy.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and siblings, Cathy, Lewis and Jill Schmidt.
