NORFOLK — Funeral services for Harlan “Harley” Zumbrum, 70, Norfolk, were Oct. 21 at Trinity Episcopal Church, Norfolk. Rev. Gordon Braun officiated, with burial in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Norfolk. Visitation was Sunday at Brockhaus-Howser-Fillmer Funeral Home, Norfolk. Harley died Oct. 16, 2024, at Faith Regional Health Services, Norfolk. Harlan L. “Harley” Zumbrum, son of Harlan and LaVerna (Patzel) Zumbrum, was born Feb. 25, 1954, at Norfolk. He graduated from Norfolk Senior High School. Harley resided in Hollywood, Calif., for a number of years where he was an actor. He had roles in the following movies and television shows: Con Air, Jack Frost, George Lopez, Gilmore Girls, Charmed, Malcolm in the Middle, According To Jim, Boy Meets World, Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Punk’d, LA Heat, Dying To Love You, Six Feet Under, NYPD Blue, Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman, Drew Carey, Joey, Diagnosis Murder, The 70’s, Mad About You, Young and The Restless, and Brooklyn South.
When Harley returned to Nebraska, he lived in Columbus and his hometown of Norfolk, where he was a talented musician. He was a member of the following bands: Bloody Stub/Fat Chance, Quazy, Shiloh, NoBody’s Business, and Stonehouse. Harley was inducted into the Nebraska Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and the Nebraska Country Music Hall of Fame.
Harley was a member of First United Methodist Church, Norfolk. Harley is survived by his mother, LaVerna Zumbrum, Norfolk; sister, Betty (Bob) Hartl, Norfolk; nieces, Crystal (Vance) Ave and family, and Alisha (Chance) Claussen and family; nephew, Hank (Jessica) Hartl and family; and 13 great-nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Harlan Zumbrum; his grandparents; and aunts and uncles.
