Posted in:

HARTINGTON — The Cedar Catholic Lady Trojans moved to 11-11 on the year after splitting a pair of games against tough MidStates Conference foes.

The Cedar girls handed Battle Creek a four-set loss here last Tuesday. Cedar then went on the road Thursday, falling in five sets to the always-tough West Point Guardian Angels.

Both teams have previously been rated in the Top 10 in the State in their respective classes.

The Lady Trojans used a balanced attack against Battle Creek to pick up the win. Laney Kathol and Brooklyn Kuehn led the team at the net with 13 and 10 kills each.Cady Uttecht set up the offense with 18 set assists.

The Cedar defense was also stellar against the Bravettes. Kuehn and Makenna Noecker both slammed back three blocks, while Kathol had two blocks. The Big Red ‘D’ was also aided by Megan Heimes, who dove all over the place to collect 25 digs on the night. Brynn Wortmann also had a solid night with 15 digs. Cedar Catholic 19 25 25 25
