Beth Paulette Fleming

NEBRASKA CITY — Beth Paulette Fleming, 51, Nebraska City, died Nov. 11, 2022, at her home. Paulette was born March 31, 1971, in Boise, Idaho, the daughter of Robert D. and Carol E. (Martin) Fleming. While she left us too early, she brought many people smiles and joy while she was with us. Paulette was born handicapped. The family is so grateful to the many people in the Region V system that provided wonderful support to Paulette since March 22, 1994. It allowed her to live independently and work in various capacities in the community. You may remember seeing her ride around Hartington on her bike or around Nebraska City on her scooter. She was so proud to participate in the Special Olympics and would march down to the newspaper to be sure they wrote a story about her and her coach. Paulette loved attending First Baptist Church and participating in activities including AWANA, Vacation Bible School, ladies’ retreats, and potluck dinners. Paulette loved her friends at water aerobics. Thank you to each one of you in Hartington and Nebraska City who made her life a joy. Prior to her passing, friends and family got together with Paulette at Region V to celebrate her life. Paulette is survived by her boyfriend of 15 years, James Johnson; parents, Bob and Carol Fleming, Florien, La.; siblings, Rebecca (Mark) Boniol, Lake Charles, La.; Mark (Arancha) Fleming and their children, James, Lucas and Carmen, Bolingbrook, Ill.; Christine (Scott) Bailey and their children, Claire, Macy, and Drew, Lake Charles, La.; Sara (Matt) Holloway and their children, Kylie, Jonathan, Benjamin and Daniel, Omaha; and many other relatives and friends.
