HARTINGTON - It was Cedar Catholic Homecoming on Friday night as the Trojans hosted the David City Scouts.

Big Red went to work on the ground early on with Jacob Keiser finding a lane up the middle and taking it 92 yards to the house in the first quarter.

On the next Cedar possession, Keiser rushes on fourth and short in the red zone and gains just enough for a fresh set of downs. He would punch it in from five yards out two plays later.

Keiser was not done there though. He scored in the second quarter from twenty yards out for his third touchdown of the night.

The junior back ran for 330 yards and three touchdowns on the night and complimented his teammates in front of him after the game.

“Well when I saw the push our offensive line had I knew that we were going to have a good, successful ground game,” said Keiser. “Everyone did their blocking assignments just right and it worked out real good.”

Cedar Catholic went into halftime with a 28-0 lead after quarterback Myles Thoene punched it in for another score from one yard out. David City made a charge in the third quarter, with Will Danielson and Nick Ruth connecting for two touchdown passes. Ruth caught a 71 yarder at the beginning of the second half, and later in the third caught another from 11 yards out.

The Scouts would continue with pressure in the fourth on a 47-yard field goal attempt by Douglas Alvarado that was good through the uprights.

The Trojans stayed composed though, adding two more touchdowns to end the night.

Thoene connected with Cole Becker from 10 yards out for a score in the back corner of the end zone. Thoene also scored on a three-yard rush attempt after faking the handoff to Keiser.

Cedar Catholic is 1-3 with the win and travels to Ponca on Friday to begin District play.
