HARTINGTON - The pregame music explained it perfectly, as Phil Collins "In The Air Tonight" played at Russ Hochstein Field 10 minutes before kickoff.

There was something in the air tonight. A gut feeling that only happens before an electrifying sporting event.

That feeling turned into fruition, as Hartington-Newcastle battled with Bloomfield in the closest match the undefeated team had seen yet.

The Bees briefly made it a two-score game, but HNS was quick to respond all night, not allowing Bloomfield to grab much momentum.

The Wildcats gave Bloomfield the toughest game of the regular season, as HNS lost 24-21. Bloomfield had beaten all opponents by at least 18 points leading up to Thursday night's game.

Bloomfield is now 8-0 and HNS is 5-3 as both team's look ahead to the playoff's starting next week.
