Construction Update
With the asbestos removal completed recently at the Laurel- Concord-Coleridge School, the last area of demolition was set to begin. The demolition of the area of the classrooms leading to the kitchen and the hall that ran parallel to the kitchen has now begun. As Detlefsen Construction began the work, a couple of discoveries were made in the process – a green wall and a tunnel. Initial contacts to LCC alumni were made to see if answers could be found. Consensus was that the green wall was part of a storage closet off the old shop/old gym in the 1908 building. The tunnel where pipes were found was more than likely a tunnel that could be used for maintenance purposes.
