Runners compete well at Conference
WAUSA – Randolph’s cross country team competed in the Bloomfield Invite/Lewis & Clark Conference meet Friday. In a week’s time the weather changed from warm to cold and windy. Many runners layered with a sweatshirt underneath their jersey for Friday’s race.

Preston Goetsch runs a combine in what is a familar scene around the area. A week of warm, dry weather helped Nebraska farmers pick up steam for corn and soybean harvests. According to the United States Department of Agriculture, 22 percent of the corn crop is in and 53 percent is rated goodto- excellent and 29 percent of soybeans are harvested with 47 percent good-toexcellent.

West Nile Virus has been found in NE Nebraska
WAYNE – The Northeast Nebraska Public Health Department is alerting the public that the first pool of mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile Virus has been found within the health district of Cedar,Dixon, Thurston and Wayne counties for the 2023 season. West Nile Virus is present in Northeast Nebraska.
