Abbe Morten dropped in seven first-quarter points and Delayne Sudbeck and Keanna Korth also had buckets for the Lady Wildcats.

Wynot was trading buckets as they got baskets by Shaelee Planer and Autumn Lawson, along with a late trey by Michaela Lange, that gave the Lady Blue Devils a slim 12-11 early lead.

In the second frame, Kayden Jueden had an offensive board and put-back and a pair of freethrows, and Abbe Morten hit a basket plus one for the Lady Cats.

Wynot countered with 3-pointers from Shaelee Planer and Michaela Lange, and four points from the freethrow line by Karley Heimes, as they earned the 24-18 halftime advantage.

The Lady Devils would strike from long range with a trey each by Shaelee Planer, Katelyn Heine, Kaitlyn Heimes, Karley Heimes and Michaela Lange and the big scoring run put Wynot ahead 43-23 after three periods of play.

The two teams got back on a competitive basis in the fourth quarter. Hartington-Newcastle was led by the Morten sisters. Alivia and Abbe connected for six and five points respectively in the frame.

Wynot got a pair of 3-pointers by Katelyn Heine, and four points off the bench from Krystal Sudbeck, as they put this one in the win column by a final of 58-35.
