Wynot pounds Irene in SSC contest

WYNOT — The Wynot Expos defeated the Irene Cardinals 13-1 in South Central league action June 2.

The Expos are now 2-2 on the year. 

Wynot’s offense took off against Irene when the Expos batted around in the third inning to score three runs.

The Expo offense was led in the game by Kyle Wiepen, who was 2-3 at the plate, including a home run. He also had three RBI and two runs.

Scott Morrison, Lee Heimes and Don Whitmire all collected two hits. Morrison and Whitmire also scored twice, while Heimes crossed the plate once.

Jackson Sudbeck pitched seven strong innings to earn the complete-game win. Wynot will be in action again Thursday when they travel to Lesterville for another SSC League contest.
