Wynot enters State Tourney as a big underdog

HARTINGTON — After pulling off the District final upset over Humphrey St. Francis, 14-9 Wynot grabbed the seven seed for the boys basketball State Tournament and will face second-seeded 23-2 Riverside in the first round of the D2 tournament on Thursday.

It will be a defensive team against an offensive team when the Blue Devils and the Chargers meet.

Wynot averages under 52 points per game, while Riverside is averaging 61 points per game. Riverside has scored more than 65 points in 13 of the team’s 25 games.
