Weather has not helped in County’s effort to get roads back in shape

HARTINGTON — Flood damaged roads were once again the main topic of conversation at this week’s Cedar County Commission meeting.

Seven northern Cedar County residents got themselves onto the agenda to express their concerns over road repairs.

Ron Heine said the condition of the roads makes it difficult to get to and from their homes or farms and even more difficult to move cattle and feed.

Many of the flood-damaged roads in northern Cedar County are still closed because they are deemed impassable or because access to a bridge has eroded, making it unsafe to use that bridge.

There are many factors working against the County when it comes to getting the roads back in shape.
