Uttecht is getting to know community, students

HARTINGTON — New Cedar Catholic and Holy Trinity principal, Chris Uttecht, tells everyone his favorite day is the first day of school. The reason for this is because of the initial buzz everyone experiences with every new school year. Since this is his first year here, he is excited to build relationships with not only students and staff but the community itself. And, according to Uttecht, the community is excited to get to know him. “Everyday it seems like someone is stopping at our house bringing us cookies or brownies or bread,” he said. At his previous school, Wisner-Pilger, he started in 1999 as a math and science teacher and after two years of teaching he became principal up until he made the decision last spring to move to Cedar Catholic
